OS: Windows 7 Home Premium
Printer: HP LaserJet CP1510

It used to work. Now it doesn’t. I uninstalled & re-installed using all the defaults (port: LPT1). During the install, it would appear that the computer could see the printer OK, at least it gave me the right printer type as a default.

When I try to print, the status is “Error - Printing” and I can’t find anything else.

Help!

One bump in the hope that someone can give me at least a hint.

LPT1: ??? How old is this thing if it has the big clunky Centronics port?

You’re barking up the wrong port…

More likely it’s using the USB port (which it comes with) or the network port (does it have an Ethernet port?)
Assuming it’s all good, go into “printer properties” (not to be confused with “properties”, thanks Microsoft) and see if there’s still a USB port listed. Check that box and see if it helps…

That printer doesn’t have an LPT port, so that’s not going to work.
