# None of These Candidates

[None of These Candidates](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/None_of_These_Candidates) is an option on every ballot for every election in Nevada. What happens if None of These Candidates gets a majority of the votes? Does the second place finisher get the office?

It has no effect on who is elected. The candidate who gets the highest number of votes is elected (or his electors are chosen for the electoral college, for the President and Vice-President). The number of votes for “None of these candidates” is publicly announced:
