Noon whistle

Bibliophage, I grew up in West Corners, a little suburb of Binghamton, and we had a whistle go off every day at noon. And some time on Saturdays, too, I think. I lived 2 blocks from the volunteer fire department. Even went to fire safety classes there as a 5th grader. And they had Ice Cream Socials there every summer. Ahhh, the memories. So where were you?

Wayne County, between Syracuse and Rochester.
