# norinew pits the City of Cumberland bureaucracy

Well, folks, we went down to the court house this morning, letter _and_ reciept in hand, and showed everything to the Clerk. He said that before the fine can be noted as having been paid, he needs something from Fucky Chucky or FC’s lawyer, on letterhead, saying the fine has been paid. Now, in the first place, how come _nobody_ told me that after the first letter, when I called ten different people? In the second place, how in Og’s name can they _look_ at the receipt and tell us that until FC sends an official letter, the fine is still considered unpaid? In the third place, as much as I would like to chalk this up to incompetence on FC’s part, I’m afraid he did it on purpose, just to screw with us.

The Clerk called FC’s office while we were there, and made an official request for something in writing saying we’ve paid the fine.

I’ll tell you something, my friends, if this charade continues, I will do everything in my power to see to it that whole damned city of Cumberland hears about it.
