Which White House was he referring to? Betcha Wellstone got along with Clinton about as well as Coleman gets along with Bush, and for largely the same reason, don’tcha think? But Coleman would certainly have helped himself more by pointing out his capability of independent thought. ---

From what I heard, they did not get along so well together at first. Certainly Wellstone was never in Bill Clinton’s pocket the way Coleman is with G.W. You can’t point it out if it doesn’t exist. Why would a reporter even ask Coleman if he gets along better with the Bush White House than Wellstone did? Isn’t the answer pretty darn obvious? The reporter was probably asking just so he could get a smarmy quote like that, and Coleman fell for it! ---

Coleman voted against drilling in the Alaska Wildlife reserves. I didn’t vote for the guy, but if that doesn’t show thought independent of the White House, I don’t know what does.
