I had a brilliant thought, but it’s gone now. Just read the John Bellairs book _The Spell of the Sorcerer’s Skull_, and I’ll spend the rest of the day being terrified of random shadows. Oh, and for **merrily** - I have two more Mary Russel novels out from the library, and I’ll let you know what I think of them. **Soup** , that was actually kind of funny. 😃 I’m sweeping-vacuuming-mopping and then doing the grocery shopping. We’re having curry and a sesame-ginger salad tonight, provided I can find decent lettuce. ---

If your aglet is agley it means you need new shoelaces. Or you could just tape a piece of scotch tape around the end of your shoelace ifn you don’t care how you look. Then, buy you some new shoelaces next time you go to the store that sells shoelaces. **Rue** our haircuts don’t match. ACBG’s hair is jet black. Not a speck of gray in it. He’s 50 and no gray hair anywhere. I know cause I’ve seen everywhere. Oh look! **HUMPH!** First a post won’t go through. Then it goes through. Then it goes through again. WTH is this!?!?!?! **merrily** I can’t do that! That’s how I explained the “gopher holes” in the back yard. Dang gophers! Just dig everywhere. Just so everybody knows, the clothes exchanging only occurs on those occasions when it’s a spur of the moment spend the night party. For planned spend the night parties, whoever’s going to whose house brings their own clothes for the next day or so. Toothbrushes, razors and assorted other implements for grooming stay at each other’s house. It’s just more convenient that way. Oh and **Kalley** , old joke, but, **BWAAAHAAHAAHAAHAAHAAHAAHAA!!!** anyways. ---

Speaking of sausages, we went to a new restaurant (well, new for us) for brunch on Sunday. It was served family style, which means they brought out plates of food. We didn’t get a choice - you got what you got! Fortunately, it was mostly pretty good. And they had sausages - little links - among other meats - bacon, scrapple, pork - and pancakes and eggs and a casserole and Crab Benedict and fresh fruit and pastries and grits and rolls and butter and potatoes… way more than the two of us could finish. And all for $23, including tax! We could have had dessert, too, if we’d have had room for it. The restaurant was at a marina (as it happens, one we stayed in about 6 years ago) and we had a table with a water view. It was a lovely brunch. If you visit me on a Sunday, we can go there for brunch. It was SEVENTY DEGREES here today! I opened the house and let the fresh breeze blow through. It’s supposed to snow by morning. I love Maryland weather! ---

MMMMMMMM… brunch. I love brunch. It’s too late for breakfast but to early for lunch. It’s **BRUNCH**! I had brunch after church yesterday. See, first Sunday’s after Eucharist we have a brunch. Everybody brings a dish and we set it all out, get it blessed and dig in. I made a corn casserole yesterday. It all got eaten. Of course, all my brunch offerings always get eaten cause they’re good. Ok, I cheat and bring the corn thing a lot cause well, it’s easy and it gets eaten. Somebody brought some lox, bagels and cream cheese yesterday. MMMMMMM… Jewish brunch food in an Episcopal church. And all kinds of other good stuff plus… some Krispy Kreme doughnuts! **BRUNCH GOOD!** ---

I want some chocolate…real bad. I am studiously avoiding the treats I have tucked in my desk drawer. I’ve studiously avoided them all day. So far, I haven’t even had one. I have, however, drunk enough water to fill all Washington state resevoirs. It’s a good thing the bathroom is right across the hall. ---

Herfy’s. What an interesting name for a fast food joint. Food that makes you “Herf”! Reminds me of one of my college day recipes, “Ralph.” Ralph is a pound of ground beef, a can of english peas, any edible leftovers from the fridge all cooked together in a crock pot. Named Ralph because an hour later your stomach starts saying “Ralph.” A pot of Ralph would be dinner for a week for a poor, starving college student. -swampbear (Ya know, it’s a wonder I survived college at all) ---

Weekend was mostly work, but I did get to the OSU hockey game Saturday night. It was fun. I’d forgotten how fast the game moves. (Haven’t been to a hockey game in about 20 years.) Dinner tonight is pierogies and green beans. The pierogies are the cheater frozen kind, but I thought they sounded good… (Thank you **FCM** for the inspiration - you mentioned pierogies in the ethnicity thread over in IMHO. Where do I send the chocolate?) So…what’s the difference between Mexican Train and regular dominoes? I’m always looking for stuff to play with the niece and nephew and assorted other family members. **Terrorcotta** , I loved the line about the bees getting your son’s ideas.
