I have done searches, I have read books, and whatever else I could think of to find the answer, but I can’t find it anywhere. Why do people have pubic hair? For instance, men have hair up on their heads, but couldn’t grow a beard if their life depended on it. They have NO hair anywhere else except their arm pits and they have pubes. It’s the same, for the most part, with women, except they shave their legs and pits. Does pubic hair serve ANY purpose at all, or was it put there just so I would ask this question? And yes, I’m wierd. 😃 ---

Why do people have a tail bone? There was no reason for pubic hair to be weeded out of the gene pool, therefore it wasn’t. ---

I can’t quote anything on this, but I think (like everything else) it’s a sex thing. I’ve heard that humans have armpit hair to “advertise” their smell. You know, like phermones. I would assume that pubic hair serves the same purpose. Maybe I don’t want to post this answer… **kelliebob** -patron saint of pubes :o ---

Some say it’s because it traps pheremones, fairy-moans, aw, shit, smells. Others think it cushions the pubic area during sex. Or it advertises that you are old enough to mate. I suppose that beats having your labia blow up twenty times normal size and turn bright red. ---

i think the only completely hairless places on a person’s body is the palms of the hands and the soles of the feet. i think it goes back to some kind of caveman thing. and no i dont know why i know that. ---
