As the Perfect Master said, little stuff causes little problems, big stuff causes big problems. There are degrees. Just because someone has to pretend to be somewhat different in order to get nominated doesn’t mean you have to pretend to be a psycho.

I agree with said principle but we might have – actually, we definitely have - different idea of what’s a “little stuff (that) causes little problems” versus “big stuff (that) causes big problems”.

How can you tell what’s “small” and what’s “big”?

For example, during election campaign in 2000., Bush Jr. actually said:

“If we don’t stop extending our troops all around the world in nation-building missions, then we’re going to have a serious problem coming down the road. And I’m going to prevent that.”

To me, this quote clearly demonstrates the type of people Romney belongs to and the game he and his supporters are engaged.

Yeah, they’re stereotypical, cynical, duplicitous politicians.

But I think the likes of Gingrich, Bachman, Perry, and Cain are an order of magnitude worse than Bush. And I think Romney is probably better than Bush even if he is a liar.
