As the title says, my email notifications only come sporadically. For instance, I get updates on the American Horror Story thread, but not in the one about deep Christian rock songs. And haven’t at all since I subscribed. So is there anything that can be done? Thanks in advance! ---

Mine have always been that way, I just assumed it was because I didn’t visit the Dope hourly or something. ---

Don’t know why you get some and not others. That is a mystery. Have you checked your spam filter? Sometimes that’s where emails end up. Again, I don’t know why sometimes they get to people and sometimes they’re viewed as spam. ---

Hmm. Thank you both for your replies. They’re definitely not in my spam folder, so I’m not sure what’s going on either. Guess I’ll just have to keep checking the board more often. 😉 ---

Might be a sign that the server is getting swamped – if it’s in difficulty, sending emails is the first task it drops. Then again, it’s been a while since I’ve seen one of those emails – doesn’t it say that you won’t be notified again until you return to the thread? So if it’s a fast-moving thread and there’s been numerous responses in it, you won’t be notified of those new posts until after you have visited the thread again. Is it possible that’s what’s happening here? Just wondering. ---

That may be it on some, but the one I listed (about deep Christian rock songs) hasn’t notified me at all since I subscribed. I wouldn’t have realized there were new posts each time if I didn’t keep catching it listed under New Posts whenever I returned to the board. I’ll keep an eye on it and if I catch it again, I’ll note what you asked for and shoot you an email. Thanks for all your help Tuba! ---

Yes, if you should be getting emails on a thread and you’re not getting any at all, I’d appreciate knowing what you can figure out about it – if we can find you’re not seeing stuff because the server is overloaded that will tell us something. Not sure we can readily do anything about it but at least we’ll know. ---

Perhaps your settings got changed? Now when you subscribe it says “no email”? Older threads still get email, new ones don’t? ---
