… but I know things will get better. They **have** to, because - in the words of some obscure poet - “Well, I been down so God-Damn long… that it looks like **up** to me!” One of the highlights of the wedding last Saturday was getting to see my High School Best Friend, who I had not seen since D and I divorced that first time - so 28 years… Anyway, the kind of service it was, required that the groom go down the aisle first, and so I did (but not before my sis-in-law told me to zip mah trous-ahs \ “Ya don’t want mah trousahs to fall down, now ye?” \ 🙂 As I was walking my ass down aforementioned aisle, I saw Gary, and all hell just broke loose right then and there, friends and neighbors. I stopped in my tracks, started cryin’ and fartin’ (not really - this is just poetic justice - or whatever that shit’s called) and hugging the hell out of him and his wife! Well? What was I **supposed** to do when I saw my childhood friend??? So the ceremony got going, me and D got married (re-married), and as I told her last night (jokingly of course): “Ah, honey! It was worth re-marrying you just to get to see Gary again!” You have to know her to know that she knows her Bill is going to go for the cheap laugh every time! She’s my bestest audience! 🙂 So? Why am I not having a good time right now? Gary wants me to be a part of his music production company, and I would like that a lot, but I have no idea how much longer I can think in the real world, kiddos! I just took a break from sitting outide on the patio, getting my fingers “calloused-up” again, by playing some easy stuff on the Takamine Jas… What led me to come back inside and write y’all was that song: _Sam Stone_ by John Prine. I always use it to get myself “in range” after not having played and sung for a while, but this time it made me start crying and so I stopped and picked _Wanted Man_ by Cash, and got my anger up a little. This shit is like puberty, man! Does any of this make sense? Probably not, huh? Sorry! Bill ---

OK, so you’d like to be part of the production company, but you don’t know how long you can manage it. Does Gary know the situation? If so, then GO DO IT for as long as you can. There’s no harm in that. When you can’t manage it anymore, I’m sure someone will let you know. Or make that part of the deal, that when either of you thinks you’ve had enough, you’re done, no hard feelings. I say take the joy you can, while you can. ---

Which is why I got the Jas’ out. I’ve just got a lot of shit coming at me right now, and I am hoping his “light at the end of the tunnel” isn’t a train coming at me the other way. I have to tell y’all, it took me 5 tries to get the Windsor knot in my tie for the wedding (after having done it a thousand times in the past) and if this amp didn’t have a tuner onboard, no way could I tune string-to-string. I know. **KWITCHER WHINING, QUASI** , right? 🙂 I will. I have good days and bad days, and some of the time they get mixed right up together, and this is the result. I wish I could tie a windsor knot in 5 tries…and I used to could, back in the day… And whine all you like, that’s what we tune in for. How else can I justify MY need to whine? Can we talk about my foil wallpaper??? ---

Stripping it you mean, **DL**? I used to co-manage a Sherwin-Williams, and remember a bit about that 1. Steaming it off 2. Covering it over with KILZ and starting over A VERY BIG THING Y’ALL NEED TO KNOW!!! Sometimes unscrupulous people will “cut corners”! HERE IS ONE THAT WILL KILL A RE-SALE!!! Wallpaper applied directly to the sheetrock. Have fun with that one, mah chirrun! 😉 Yes, I know that doesn’t happen **now**! (Or at least we don’t hear about it) ---

Are the Windsor and Four-in-hand knots the same? I can only tie the one that makes a big (or not) triangle. I used to know how to tie the ‘half-version’ of it, but I forgot how years ago. ---

Thanks Quasi! (Hijack) My local paint store suggested applying an oil based primer and a paintable texured paper. Since the stuff is on SOOOOO well, I think that’s how I’ll go. (end hijack) (and whining…) ---
