As many of you know, I’ve been toiling away at the puzzle factory for many, many years. Many years. Like, 14 years. Which is a long time. But it’s been a cool job, and for a long time the fact that it is such a cool, fun job was enough to compensate for the fact that they didn’t pay me shit. But, one can only be totally broke for so long before it starts to get old – and even the coolest job will, after a decade and a half, cease to be the delightful challenge it once was. I stayed put for a long time, though – fear and inertia, loving the job, and the knowlege that most of the publishing (I’m an editor) happening in my area is medical – did I really want to edit the Journal of Infectious Dermatology, even if it paid well? C’mon – it’s not like there’s folks out there who want to pay me damn close to twice what I’m making now to start a gardening magazine from scratch, right? Wrong. I start three weeks from today. **dance of joy** ---

:eek: Wow! Congratulations, **twickster**! This just made my day! A gardening magazine from scratch! What a great oppurtunity! There’s lots of interesting things going on… pleaching, bio-intensive gardening, permaculture, xeriscaping… you can make a garden that’s beautiful, fruitful, and easy on the pocketbook as well! (And here I thought ‘working at the puzzle factory’ meant you worked for the CIA…) ---
