Congrats! Hope your magazine includes lots about growing veggies and the like. I only plant stuff I can eat. And it takes all types - my Dad’s army buddy edited “Modern Sanitation and Maintenance” - a magazine for people who manage janitors, for decades. ---

Yup – ornamental, of course – but also plenty on veggies – plus fruit trees, etc. I’m also hoping we can do some articles on community gardens and other projects by nonprofits and other neighborhood-based groups (ahem, **adoptamom** ), and not just home gardens. Plus hard-hitting articles on organic pest control and the like. That’s excellent! I’ve never known anyone else (except my former coworkers) that worked in a puzzle factory- I did it when I was about 17 or 18. Cool job, but did pay for shit. Congrats on the new gig! ---

Ooh! And do features of different seasons in one garden and also feature different areas of the country and how they garden to reduce water usage and improve soil via composting etc. I loves me some garden mags! I have to ask–what kind of puzzles? (I was picturing jigsaw, but somehow, I doubt that…) ---

Gardening subjects Shirley Would Like to See: **Becoming a Worm Farmer** I forget the technical name of worm farmers but worm poop is called _castings_. I want to do this. **Setting fire to your neighbors 20 acre weed patch so that it no longer contaminates your veggie garden and how not to get caught or do jail time.** There might be a limited readership with this one. **When the Veggies are Ripe the Friends and Relatives start crawling out of the wood word. Discuss.** Its like winning the lottery around here in mid to late august. ---
