Most gardeners get a bunch of catalogues, and the odds are very, very good that they already get catalogues from one or more of these companies. At some point over the summer or fall, these people will be contacted with info about the club, one benefit of which will be a really kick-ass magazine. Say “yes” to the club deal to get the magazine. Or, email me (address in profile), and I’ll add you to the list of people I’ll be emailing personally when the info becomes available. ---

Just have to add my congrats too. You’re great with puzzles, but I can understand if you’re a little tired of them. We all need a change from time to time. And a new magazine–I once had the great good luck to get in on the ground floor as a columnist for a “home and garden”- type publication a few years ago. Great experience, and a good opportunity to help shape the publication from the start. You’ll be challenged, but I’m sure you’ll love it. Good luck! I’m hoping we can still do puzzle clues and whatnot on the SDMB from time to time though! ---

By not so much as an “oh shit” did she reveal her immense distress. (Well, of course, this might have something to do with the fact that with the letter of resignation, I handed over a list of my main jobs and who I recommended assigning each of them to…) (That and, “you’ll be somewhat available for answering questions and stuff after you leave, right? RIGHT?”) 😃 So she scampered down and told her boss, then came back, and we gathered the whole department together and told them all at once – I’ve never seen a dozen jaws drop in unison before. And since then (all day yesterday and all day today), you could infer who was telling who around the rest of the company by the order in which people stopped by my desk to say “omigod – congratulations – and, if you need a [cust. service person, circulation person, finance person]…” And, luckily, most people aren’t giving me a hard time about the fact that I’m walking around with a huge grin on my face. ---
