Man has once visited the Marianas Trench, for 20 minutes, and found out it was covered in a 500-foot layer of salt. But a local island of theives stole all the salt after they left. They took a red Swingline stapler too. Tripler Mankind filed a TPS report on the theft. Did you get _that_ memo? ---

After high schoo, I concentrated on Saline. She was a co-ed. She was one in a million. We went to Yale together. Then, to the moon. She was deep. I only explored her once, for 20 minutes. ---

But yes, man **has** visited the deepest part of the worlds oceans, Challenger Deep in the Mariana’s Trench, just once, in 1960, for 20 minutes. The scientists found Yale co-eds, just out of high schoo, partying and drinking margaritas, eating salted pretzels, and “playing” with inanimate carbon rods. They went just once because the lure of these sirens was almost too great to overcome. If man goes back, he may never return, being lured and then killed by the Mermaids of the Challenger Deep. ---
