By pure chance, today happened to be the day when I first opened the link in **Tentacle Monster** ’s sig. While I can’t recommend it to anyone with a shred of decency, I did hit [this](http://www.ghastlycomic.com/d/20020428.html) comic right when I finished reading those two tracks. I think the man has a good idea. ---

Anybody else think that ol’ Jack has been reading the ridicule Bob was getting out there and thought he’d be clever by turning his mouth piece into a little girl. After all no one would dare mock a child… especially one as angelic as little Suzy. Yeah right. That little witch hasn’t a single original thought in her head. It’s “Grandpa says this…” and “Grandpa says that…” and “God says this…” But Suzy, what do you say? What do you think? And why the hell do you look like one of those gawdawful creepy anime creatures my kids watch when I turn my back? ---

Odd how the fundies always fail to mention Lot offering his daughters to the Sodomites instead of the angels. Not to mention the families further adventures in the wilderness. Wonder if Grandpa’s explained that to little Susie… And how. What a pile of crap. I’m so ashamed that I used to believe this rubbish. Thank goodness my hormones kicked in, or I might have ruined a lot of lives. ---

Or that scholars have long since dismissed homosexuality as the crime for which Sodom was condemned (a no-brainer since a small city of murderous xenophobic homosexuals would die out pretty quickly) and the Bible itself states that the [sin of sodom](http://www.biblegateway.com/cgi-bin/bible?passage=EZEK+16:49&language=english&version=NIV&showfn=on&showxref=on) was apathetic hedonism. Incidentally, surviving tablets from those who visited both state that Gomorrah was actually far less touristy and had better antique shops, though they concede that Sodom had the bigger dance floors and better drag queens. (I wonder if Gomorrah was a city of lesbians?) ---

Is there a gay guy on the planet who would refer to his partner as a “wife.” A wife is always female in my lexicon. I find that very offensive and just plain stupid. Someone needs to tell Chick that while he is allowed to have his own opinions (sickening though they might be) he is not allowed to have his own facts. ---

Maybe I’m just extremely closeted and wrapped in my own little world here, but… surely, SURELY there is noone who actually believes this Chick-style nonsense? It’s preposterous. There are so many holes in it that it is, frankly, just a bunch of holes loosely held together with about 3 yards of twine. You’d have to have an IQ slightly less than a chimp for it not to seem utterly ridiculous. I can’t believe that there are that many people that stupid out there. Even Chick himself must know that he’s distorting things horribly, horribly badly? I’ve known some pretty bloody orthodox religious types of all stripes but even the really hardcore ones would laugh at this. Tell me that you don’t really know anyone that buys it! pan ---

I once showed the tract on liberation theology to one of my professors, as he is very into LT. It was his opinion that Chick is just out to make money or most likely, trying to make Christians look bad. Who knows? ---

Jack Chick has been putting stuff out for almost 40 years. He’s kinda reclusive but it’s not like his history or appearance is totally unknown. Do a google search & you’ll find stories of personal encounters with him & all of them agree that yes, Chick is for real, he actually believes this stuff, he is personally a nice guy, and he thinks he’s doing the best for people in exposing what he believes to be damnably false teachings. Until the mid-1970s, when he’d been publishing for 10 years, he was not at all controversial in evangelical Christian circles. His tracts could be found in most C’tian book stores through America. Only when he got on his anti-Catholic binge fueled by the convoluted Conspiracy-theories of ex-Jesuit Alberto Rivera & “ex-Illumnati” John Todd was he considered anything but a respectable fundist C’tian publisher. He could be far more successful, popular & richer if he stuck to his pre-Todd/Alberto fundism, which has alienated all but the fringe of the fringe. ---

As a kid growing up in a Pentecostal church, Chick tracts were a staple of reading and considered authorative. Lots of fundaloonies rely on them. ---
