# Not really mundane or pointless, Thailand and Cambodia slugging it out.

There’s been some tension lately (as in the last hundred years or so) between Thailand and Cambodia over the ruins of a temple and 4 square kilometers worth of scrub land on the border. Last Friday there was a skirmish of some sort, a village in the Thai side was shelled. While it looked like a skirmish over a misunderstanding of some sort, has dragged on for the past three days, reportedly there’s still shelling or rocket attacks going on in the area.

Coincidentally enough there are elections coming up for both countries this year. :dubious:
