Pleeeease It’s not in the movie and I don’t think it’s in the book **2001** , but it’s in both thebook and movie **2010** , and represents what Bowman was _supposed_ to have said before disappearing into the monolith. ---

How about staring over the shoulder of the person at your bedside, and saying, “Who? Me or him/her? Make up your damned mind! Me? Are you sure? _ungh_” And **Clothahump** : I’ll bite. What’s that a reference to? Discworld? ---

And I actually cribbed it from a book of Epitaths that I once read which included epitaths from England and America dating back to the 1780s. I think Milligan’s usage may be a case of parallel evolution rather than theft but comedians have been borrowing each other’s material ever since the first neanderthal told the circle at his fire “Take my wife…please.” I think my last words would most likely be some thing like “Do you pour acid into the base solution or base into acid?” or "What happens when I do this?’ poking something large and hostile with a short, sharp stick. ---
