My favorite one of these stories is when one of the Portland Trailblazers (Derek Anderson I believe) tried to go through an airport metal detector with pot wrapped in tin foil. Needless to say he set off the alarm and got busted. ---

I’m confused. He called the cops himself? Why? If there was no burglar? But then maybe I shouldn’t be surprised, I used to know a guy who’d do a lot of coke and go stare out the window keeping an eye out for Batman. Of course even he was bright enough not to call the police. ---

Celebrities, pro athletes, etc., are _high-entitlement_ personalities. They can’t even conceive that The Rules apply to them. Calling the cops with blow on your desk is not “not bright” – it’s a totally natural consequence of the superstar state of mind. Add a certain amount of denial –“that’s got nothing to do with me” – and it’s a wonder they _all_ don’t get hung up on this kind of thing.
