Ick.
Suffering from what? I’m not sure I’d want to eat the flesh of an animal that was in the end stages of a terminal illness.
Again, ick.

OK, now the joke has gone too far! You might say that it’s jumped the…oh, never mind.
Or should I get in the spirit of the above post and say “EAT ME!!!”?
Nothing to worry from me, Manatee. IMO, if an animal species has evolved enough sentience to express its conscious desire to be eaten, that species is no longer kosher.
But until then – mmmm, cutlet of milk-fed USDA Prime manatee…
No, it’s okay. They’re suffering from clinical depression.
Okay, but how do we know that the meat wouldn’t be dull and tasteless, lacking any interest in how it is prepared and taking no satisfaction from being edible? Will the fact that the cow may have been anxious or avoided social activities affect the tenderness of the meat? And how did the cows get into the clinic in the first place? Shouldn’t they be outstanding in their fields?
It’s a self-perpetuating feedback loop–if cows just stand around and don’t get enough exercise, that effects their brain chemistry, and they get depressed. The solution is either a few ccs of happy drugs or a few miles on the treadmill. Gotta get those endolphins flowing somehow.
Veal comes from calves–more specifically, cow calves. Young dolphins are also called calves.
The question, “Where does veal come from?” would likely be responded to with: “They come from calves.” This may be where the error originates.
Hon, check the date on this thread. This is considered resurrecting a zombie thread and it is a no-no on the SDMB. Just wanted to let you know before someone yells at you.

Silly, Faeries don’t bite women. We only nibble on men. If you don’t believe me, just ask matt_mcl.
