Anyone significant die on the anniversary of your birth? Could be a famous person, an infamous event where people died (9/11, mass shooting, etc), a relative whose death was a major blow to you/the family, etc. I’m not talking about historic deaths-- like your birthday falls on the day Hitler or Joan of Arc died. I’m talking memorable deaths during your lifetime, that happened to fall on your birthday. For me, it was former Detroit Tiger [Dave Bergman](https://goo.gl/images/mLL98A). As a nine-year-old who became obsessed with the Tigers during their 1984 Championship season, I singled out first baseman Dave Bergman as my favorite. When my friends and I would “play Tigers” at the park, someone would be Trammell, someone would be Whitaker, someone would be Lance Parrish or Jack Morris, but I was always Bergy. Over the years, I collected his baseball cards (I probably have the largest Dave Bergman baseball card collection outside of the Bergman family), and my wife even got me a replica #14 Bergman Tigers jersey for Christmas a few years ago. All-in-all, a big fan of the guy. Then, on my 40th birthday, he died. It was a major bummer for what was a somewhat significant birthday milestone for me. It’s like the universe was helping me to never forget the actual day my favorite baseball player died: Feb. 2, 2015. ---

My grandma died on my 7th birthday. My aunt died on my brother’s birthday (I forget which…18 maybe?) Weird. ---

[I see that Castro died on my birthday](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/November_25#Deaths), but if I noticed the co-occurrence at the time I had forgotten it by now, and I wasn’t exactly broken up over that anyway. (ETA: I didn’t even remember that Shepard Book died the same day!) ---

John Kennedy died on my Father’s birthday. Marilyn Monroe died on my Mother’s birthday. So, that’s kind of interesting. Elvis Presley died on my Brother’s birthday. Osama bin Laden died on my birthday, except where he was it was the next day. Hitler missed me by one day, but I did get Joseph Goebbels. ---
