No one that I’m quickly seeing, however, the Sikh Temple Shooting happened on my birthday, and close enough to me that I hit roadblocks and could see all the police cars on my way home from work that day. Didn’t know what was going on until later on though, I just assumed it was a car accident or something. ---

Gianni Versace was murdered on my 37th birthday. I remember being mildly upset, because I appreciated his talent. I also could have sworn that JFK, Jr. died on my birthday, but it turns out that was the day after. ---

In my lifetime, Christopher Lee died on my birthday a few years back. Historically, Robert the Bruce kicked it on my birthday, also. ---

In modern days notable deaths on my birthday include: Red Adair, Brion James and Shotzie (dog owned by a bitch). A decade before my birth Oliver Hardy died. However, in the far past it was not good to be royalty/ emperor on my birthday. Notable deaths include Roman Emperor Majorian, Emperor Yūryaku of Japan, duke of Upper Lorraine Frederick II, Holy Roman Emperor Henry IV and Scottish prince & 1st Duke of Albany Alexander Stewart. ---

Not a death on my birthday, but the National Day of Mourning for LBJ was on my 7th birthday. (He had died 3 days earlier). We got the day off from school. When I asked my dad why we were getting an unexpected school holiday, he told me it was for my birthday. Yep, I believed him. The only one I remember that was on my birthday was last year’s Mary Tyler Moore. ---

I was born August 5, 1962, I have blond hair (OK, full disclosure, DID, a lot of it is gone these days) and still have very blue eyes, so I like to tell anyone who will listen is I am the reincarnation of Marilyn Monroe…no, I’m not female, no, not beautiful, voluptuous or sexy, no, I can’t act, sing or have ever been in a acting role past a lead role in my 6th grade class production of, “The Mikado”…OK, so maybe “reincarnation” is a bit of an approximation… Patrick Ewing was born on the same day…he got all the athletic skills that were being passed out that day… ---

Well, yes, Hitler, actually. But I wasn’t born yet. As for one that I remember, Balanchine. I was spending 20-30 hours per week int he ballet studio at the time, and it was really devastating. Would have been 1982 or 83 I guess. ---
