The first day I was homeless, I had to first figure out how to use a bathroom. Lots and lots of places are marked “for customers only”, and enforced. Where do you go to pee when you don’t even have the cash to buy a pack of gum? Several times a day? Where do you go just to sit down for a few minutes? Can’t keep driving around in the car, gas is expensive! Can’t sit in it too long while it’s parked, or cops hassle you. As long as I was well groomed, I could manage in parks and bus stops, for a while. I faked some phone calls on my (disconnected) cell phone, telling the imaginary person on the other end how I was waiting for them, and I’d let this bus go so we could ride together - that way, I didn’t have to get on the bus when it arrived, and didn’t get kicked off the bus stop bench for loitering. That’s the kind of shit homeless people deal with. Figuring out where to plug in my flatscreen TV and PS3 wasn’t exactly on my radar, I gotta be honest. ---

As far as food goes, I keep some of my food in the refrigerator at my job. I also cook my food at my job. I microwave all my food like chicken, beef, and pork chops.
