My hope was to let other people know, “Hey, this guy is yanking your chain, please stop obliging him and maybe he’ll go away.” No discussion really needed, in this thread or the GD one. If people stopped responding, he’d stop trolling (or the resultant flameout of “Why isn’t anyone paying attention to meeeeeeeeeeee” would be much more fun to watch). ---

Well, in fairness the OP seems actually to be directed at the folks who feel the need to continue to try and debate with Nothing Special. Noting Special may be stupid and poor at making a case for his position, so why do folks continue to engage him? ---

I had them cornered from the start. They know that normal athletics are destructive, and they know that they still like to do these destructive things. I ask them, “Why do you like destruction?” and they get very pissed. They want to continue to destruct, because they’ve learned to enjoy it, for whatever reasons. And what are those reasons? ---

People who have, themselves, nailed themselves to a wall can suddenly find the energy and inspiration to protest the fact being pointed out to them that they, themselves, have nailed themselves to a wall. People become attached to their self-degradation. Self-degradation becomes a habit, and reinforced early on. Normal athletics are one example. ---

Most of the posters in the GD thread tried to engage you, asking you to expand on your thought, to support it with facts from the real world, and still you ran in circles.
