Depends. How old is the nun?
If she has on depends, it’s a fair bet this halftime show is gonna suck.
ESPN is reportingthat Jimmy Clausen will not be in South Bend next year. And unnamed sources say that Golden Tate will not be returning either.
It will be a bare cupboard for Weis’s replacement in 2010.
Don’t be silly, with Weis’ super recruiting ability, there must be tons of talent left. ![]()
You mean other than that backup QB - Dane Christ - that was rated higher than Clausen was? Or Michael Floyd who is, IMO, a better all-around receiver than Tate? The fact that the OL will continue to get better since Weis had to completely put it together on his own over the last 5 years? Kyle Rudolph will be a junior and probably the best TE in the nation. Manti Teo will be a sophmore and start putting together an impressive pro resume. The only thing lacking will be how well the young and poorly-executing D-line and CBs develop, as well as having to get a new QB up to speed (but the talent isn’t lacking at QB, as you suggest).
Christ himself plays for Notre Dame, and they still went 6-6?
Low hanging fruit for a joke, but hey, who doesn’t love fruit?
Heh. It’s actually Dayne Crist - but it’s so easy to want to misspell that one.
And I just remembered that Crist is currently hurt, and could be out during spring practice. THAT hurts, both for his development as well as for Floyd, Rudolph and Kamara. I guess Powlus will have to suit up for the Blue & Gold game!
That kind of reminds me of my college days at Georgia Tech back in the early 80’s. Bill Curry said in an interview to the Atlanta Journal how much he was looking forward to next years football season as Tech had 19 out of 22 starters returning for the season. Returning starters on a team that went 1-9-1 the previous year is not a good thing.
Does he run the crossing patterns as a receiver?
Yep. “JC” was the quarterback and they went 6-6.
No, but he’s caught some Hail Mary passes.
For Michigan winning the Big Ten Championship and beating Ohio State is a good year.
Per South Bend Tribune, appears as if Brian Kelly will be the next Notre Dame football coach. We’ll see until it’s official official, but this appears to be pretty credible in light of recent interviews and meetings with Notre Dame.
I for one, welcome our new football overlord.
Thanks a lot, Kelly! Build Cincinnati up to an almost-national champ contender and dump us for money and alleged prestige! If coaches like you would stick around a couple more years in a program like ours and actually maintain success for awhile then a couple things might happen:
A Big East school like UC wouldn’t be as likely to be considered a “stepping stone” program for coaches so they constantly bail after a minute taste of success AND we would get more respect in the polls, thereby enabling a possible BCS champ game!
Ah well, se la vie. Go Bearcats in the Sugar Bowl, although I doubt your players will play as hard for you now.
I like it. Which means it will surely be a disaster.
Cincy has no practice facility. They practice on the game field. With subpar facilities you can’t expect elite coaches to settle in and stick around.
Look, can someone please just explain to me why Kelly doesn’t want to coach Cincy in the Sugar Bowl? He earned the right, coaching his team this year to a 12-0 record, and after the bowl game THEN take over the job at ND? Is it because he could possibly lose out on recruiting? Or getting a “head start” at ND?
I mean, we’re only talking about 3 weeks – coach your team in the bowl game (it’s the very LEAST you could do) & then take your “dream” job at ND. It really would be the proper thing to do.
Would Kelly have made the same decisions (coach at ND/skip the bowl game) had Texas lost and Cincinnati made the BCS title game?
