Anybody else notice that on the CNN page the party breakdown shows more Democrats voting for Bush than Republicans voting for Kerry? 😕 ---

CNN calls 234 for Bush. Add locks in MT, AK and CO, he’s at 249. He gets Ohio’s 20, and it’s over. ---

Colorado will go to Bush, easily, which has been obvious for four months. He’s got a significant edge, and the only Kerry-friendly districts are reporting. Nevada at this point looks like Bush will come back and win; almost all the votes counted are Clark County, e.g. Las Vegas. Once they get more rural votes Bush can pull ahead. Bush is winning New Mexico. I don’t see any reason that will change. She’s over, folks. ---

I meant 270 Kerry, 268 Bush. Doesn’t matter, though. If Bush takes Ohio (and don’t forget - the CEO of Diebold is “committed to helping Ohio deliver its electoral votes to the President”), I’ll have to start printing up my T-shirts that read **Please, O Great and Glorious Leader, protect my civil liberties if you deem them worthy of your attention. Thank you.** So I can be allowed to be seen in public. ---

My math says that now, if Bush wins Ohio and we give him Alaska, the best Kerry can hope for is a tie, and for that, he has to get everything Gore won as well as Nevada and New Hampshire. Even then, he’s screwed, as the Republicans control the House. ---

It’s only a local affair. The forces of nature will be sufficient to evolve another species individually intelligent and socially communicative somewhere — if not in this galaxy then in the next — and things will be as they should be. Just not for us. I am still hoping you folks are wrong about the fate of Ohio. Aside from that, I recently saw _I Heart Huckabees_. I am preparing for bad news: I am accustoming myself to an understanding of myself as pond mold. ::whack:: ---

It’d be shocking if Bush won California, but right now he’s only 5% behind. And the last tracking polls before the election had California in single digits as well. So you never know… ---

Just in my family, there are several Democrats voting for Bush. I know of precious few Republicans going for Kerry. The man is quite liberal, and has little crossover appeal. Anecdotal, I know. Nice to see this impression confirmed by polling data. ---
