> You’ve had to take absolutely nothing; you choose to read what you want. Bush _is_ an evil man, and I don’t know what act of Satan allowed such a decisive victory, but I think that given a more active Democratic campaign, it would be a clear win in the other direction. That’s really great that you predicted it last year, but you know what? No one cares. Really. Smile at yourself in the mirror, pat yourself on the back, but none of that matters to anyone but yourself.
>
> My request was that you shut up _here_. I don’t give a crap if you start 10,000 threads about how prophetic you are, but I’ll exercise the same right you had – to not read them. I do read this thread, however, as do a lot of people who I’m sure have no desire to see this turn into a “congratulate me” party.

I refuse. Sorry.

And now let me ridicule this thought… "…given a more active Democratic campaign, it would be a clear win in the other direction. " Uh huh, well, that’s a fascinating insight. Amazing how it only came now. It would have been far more credible if you had been saying this since last week, when you were presumably apprised of the strength of the Democratic campaign.

No. This was a rejection of the left by a majority of the voters. Period.

I don’t get it.

How exactly does a Bush victory prove anything besides that the American electorate is controlled by fear?

I mean, I don’t mean to piss on your party or everything, but Bush’s campaign has basically been “Stick with me or you’ll die.” I still don’t know what his plans for the next four years are, nor do I know how he intends to get out of Iraq, nor have I seen him remorseful for any mistakes he’s made.

I’m sorry, but you can’t just assume that people voted for Bush because the country is becoming progressively conservative and the left is becoming marginalized. I would grudgingly grant you this if Bush’s campaign were based on anything but the ideas that wolves will kill you and Kerry’s a flip-flopper, but as I see it, Bush played the “I can protect you” shtick for all its worth. Does it mean Americans are becoming more conservative? Possible. I wouldn’t say it’s likely, though, at least until Bush starts becoming a conservative.

If it makes you feel better to ridicule that thought, go ahead. If you want to mentally masturbate to the fact that you “called it” last year, go ahead. For your information, I’ve never been overly happy with this campaign, and I don’t care – at all – how ‘credible’ that statement is to you.

> Nope. For the past four years, I have listened to the majority of this board tell me that Bush was evil, that he couldn’t possibly win, and in the face of that I have steadfastly maintained that he would. I posted a thread announcing that Bush had won LAST YEAR. Through it all, this collection of left-leaning posters assured each other that they were right, that all correct-thinking people agreed, and that somehow there were hordes of cell phone users screwing up the polls. Every time I’d suggest that reasonable people could disagree, someone would come along and call me evil, selfish, or stupid.

> No shutting up for me. I’ve had to take it here for the past four years. Now it’s your turn.

…I actually think that you will find that in a couple of years time, the eyes of the American “right” will have their eyes opened…as long as your country continues along the path you are on, the United States will become more and more marginalised internationally-you already can’t get any more international support for that debacle in Iraq, New Zealand pulled thier forces out a month or so ago because due to lack of security-there was NOTHING THEY COULD DO. Congradulations America, if Bush does win the election tonight-you’ve just lost any respect your country could hope to gain from this little corner of the world. Good Luck.

Actually Caphis I never posted anything of the sort. You do, however, need to relax and take a break from all of this,

Jennings is an utter disgrace. The Networks haven’t even bothered to make an effort to disguise their bias.

I would honestly feel much better if the Bush supporters I have spoken to actually paid attention to his policies, and merely disagreed with my views. Unfortunately, the majority of the ones I have met personally say things like “He’s a good man; he has high morals. He prays.” as if that has anything to do with actually running the country.

Most likely it will not happen. Kerry would need a huge majority of these nonsensical provisional ballots.

Please review my posts on this board for examples of defense of Bush’s policies that go well beyond “he prays.”
