I thought it was put in so they could show that magazine ad for the movie camera with the picture of the Hindenburg. That was a cool find.
Watching the Big Bang Theory lately I find that the stars could better use their time hanging out at the Harbor Freight than the Radio Shack.
Can you really buy a full-sized zeppelin and hydrogen tanks at Harbor Freight? Or am I better off checking the Hammacher Schlemmer catalog?
You can buy all the tools you need to make one there. I suggest get as many as you can this weekend at their Memorial Day Weekend Sale.
Disclaimer: I am in no way associated with the Harbor Freight company or any of it’s subsidiaries. My opinions of Harbor Freight and it’s products are entirely my own and not those of this message board.
Well, buy at least two of each since one will inevitably break, but two is still cheaper than one anywhere else. For me, angle grinders and cordless screwdrivers are as disposable as socks.
Not me. I want a tool to work right, every time I use it. I also don’t like to buy stuff that just contributes to the world’s trash problem.
Agreed. The “right” tool for any job is one that will last the rest of my life. Cheap crap is unsatisfying to use and the inevitable failures happen at the worst times. Watching people use a flimsy wrench to round off a nut or bolt makes my teeth itch.
I still have the nice analog handheld VOM I bought at age 15. I’m 62 and it still lives in its original sturdy carboard box. The box has some quality electrical tape reinforcing the corners, but is otherwise good as new.
The one exception I’ll make is tools subject to rapid technical obsolescence. None of my software tools are more than a few years old.
Harbor Freight does make some tools that are worth the price and will last a long time. You can find reviews online that will tell you about both of them.
Otherwise, their consumables are just fine. Grinding/cutoff wheels, sanding belts, abrasive media, all just as good as more expensive versions.
Oh yeah, forgot about consumables. About as long-lasting as name-brand for the light duty I give them. For a pro doing it all day, it probably doesn’t really affect productivity much if you get through 6 vs 7 sanding belts per day or whatever.
I long thought the guys on Big Bang Theory should have spent more time at Harbor Freight .
