Thank goodness someone has summoned the bravery to get to the core of the issue.
core, get it? Gravity - earth’s core? Oh, never mind then.
But, for God’s sake do NOT raise my taxes to pay for it. Lord knows, despite have the lowest tax rate in the history of our country, Billionaires are convincing me that despite the fact that they pay a smaller percentage of thier income in taxes than me they are TAXED ENOUGH ALREADY even though I could not for the life of me explain how…and I might, somehow, become rich one day…maybe lottery.
This is not a sports thread, lets keep the outrage limited to weather. Why is no one concerned with Lightning Safety? It kills more people than tornadoes, year in and year out…
The core is more closely associated with the geomagnetic field than gravity, isn’t it? I mean everything has gravity.
Actually there are several years when America had lower tax rates. Before 1913, the income tax rates were zero. There was no income tax and the tariffs and occassional war tax were not anywhere near as high as today’s taxes. Of course we didn’t have a standing army back then, and most people had to shit into holes in the ground.
Even after 1913, there were many years when the tax rate was below current rates. Most of them lead up to the great depression.
Since WWII, I think there might be two years when taxes were lower, it was one of the last things Reagan did, our top marginal tax rates were reduced to 28%. Of course that was shortly followed by a recession.
And tax rates were certainly lower during the recent Bush presidency than they are right now. Of course the Bush presidnecy led right into a great recession.
But low taxes are great for the economy and encourages job creators to create more jobs.
But, that’s sports related, too!
Who do you think the lightning is killing, if not golfers and boaters?
And maybe a guy or two wearing metal hats.
I don’t consider either of those to be sports
