Regardless, Ford has been one of the fiercest critics of Trump during this second Trump regime, particularly spurred on by the tariff nonsense. As a result, his popularity has soared and if an election were held today, according to 338Canada he’d have an 89% change of winning, though slightly more likely to form a minority government than a majority. I usually vote Liberal or NDP but unlike my issues with the present and some past federal Conservative Party leaders, I’ve never had a problem with Doug Ford’s policies. ---

Is this for real? I’m seeing “Lake Ontario”, so perhaps Google is customizing the name based on geographic location, so the orange man-child is placated. As previously mentioned, Google is vulnerable to sanctions from the Orange Peril so is inclined to go along with the gag until a sane president reverses all the bullshit. Just two more years, if we can live through it. I imagine it shows as “Lake Ontario” throughout the world and will continue to do so. ---

I don’t have a VPN, but someone who does could probably confirm this by setting their location to Canada and loading Google Maps, then setting it to the US and doing the same. ---

I’m the same. In Canada, that is, though a few thousand miles away from your location. Still, we’re both in Canada, and we’re both seeing “Lake Ontario.” Maybe it really is time to close the Welland Canal to American shipping. Either that, or post a huge “Welcome to Lake Ontario” sign beside the canal for ships entering Lake Ontario. ---
