This link goes to a recording spliced from a Twitter Space, in which Musk says (paraphrasing) “the whole crazy stack has to be reengineered”, and a former Java virtual machine engineer who worked at Twitter calls him out to explain that, or even to say what the current stack looks like. I hearing… from accounts I consider credible… that someone very likely scraped 400,000,000 Twitter accounts, including names/phone#/passwords, and is offering this for sale. This is developing, btw. It may even be an elaborate ruse. But the story does seem to be gaining traction: > ---

As somebody who has twitter comprehensively blocked at all my firewalls, I’m learning less and less in these twitter-related threads because more and more of the threads’ contents are, ironically, direct links to tweets. Which appear to me as large blank spaces. Further, if we’re right that twitter is soon to collapse or morph into something unrecognizable, the guts of this and the other twitter threads will simply be one gigantic 404 punctuated by occasional witticisms or OMGs! from various Dopers. I don’t know how challenging it would be for posters to repost a tweet’s content versus just hotlinking to it. I also don’t know how desirable it would be for us to perpetuate some twitter contents here. There may in fact be SDMB rules or copyright issues with us doing so. We also don’t want to provoke a “board war” with something that outnumbers us thousands to 1. I just find it funny to read the thread with most of what folks are citing or are outraged about being simply a big blank box.
