Also, unless I’m very mistaken, you aren’t paying for identity verification, right? You’re basically just paying for the checkmark itself. It’s a great strategy for the ad revenue, though 1. Anonymous Company: Hey, Elon, let me give you monies for Twitter ads 2. Elon: LOL NO! Pay me for a checkmark first and then you are allowed to give me the monies 3. Anonymous Company: Get bent 4. … 5. Profit! ---

So, they’re paying to confirm a phone number exists, not for identity. And you get to pay for the privilege. I probably need to get up to 20000ft, because I can’t see how any of this makes sense from this vantage ---

…and now the Hailee Steinfeld Updates" account, the “Best of Hailee Steinfeld” account, and the “Ana de Armas Updates” account dominate my “for you” feed LOL. He done gone and broke it. I’m having to check both the display name and the account name to see if they are the real account or not, and even then I’m not entirely sure. Unusable. ---
