They must love it; there’s finally proof of their initial story that he left the Saudi embassy alive and was only missing, not dead. I mean, if he’s on twitter and verified he must still be alive and not have been murdered and dismembered by them. ---

My take on it: the goal is to establish firmly that everything and anything you see on socials is equally credible and that you _ **cannot** _ count on that anything _ **is** _. So never mind if CNN debunks you, how do you know that’s true or that’s the real CNN, just pick the one that makes sense to you! Never mind if Kim or Lebron or Stephen deny that was them who were quoted saying that, nobody can possibly know who’s real, believe what _ **you** _ will! (and yes this affects ALL socials since part of the point to spread is “how do you know THEIR owners are not fucking around with their sources?”) ---

…Twitter is broken. Check out this thread. Kevin Bacon and Kyra Sedgwick do a nice little dance in support of drag performers and the LGBTQIA+ community. > Scroll down the comments. Look at all the blue-ticks. Look at how hateful, bigoted, and nonsensical most of those posts are. The blue-tick trolls are _rampaging_. Especially on any subject related to transgender people. Its the worst I’ve seen in all my time on Twitter. They are brigading accounts, many that I follow are locking down, I’m locking down myself for the next few days. I’ve resisted moving on from the platform because I’ve got over 600 followers and I’m part of a local community that’s held up quite well considering the circumstances. But I don’t think it comes back from this. ---

Every once in a while I drop into the “For You” timeline, and it’s a trainwreck (though occasionally entertaining). I mainly stick to “Following” which still has the occasional nutter and more ads than ever, but at least it’s more sane. ---

I have a handful of people I follow, most of whom (so far) haven’t attracted the attention of the hate-spam-bots, so I continue to read and very very rarely reply, but if they begin to get swarmed also, I’ll just close my account and quietly depart. I generally follow only two topics on Twitter: Airline travel, and pop music. So far the trolls have not invaded those areas, at least not more than before. So my feed is, for the moment, still usable. In particular I do not follow any accounts related to politics. I’m sure that’s a mess. ---
