However, note that Elon did not say that he did this. At least one suit has been filed already, I am pretty sure that we will see who is telling the truth shortly. ---

Lol, that final sentence was going to be my response. And if the offer was “50% more cash for fewer legally-mandated benefits”, then, yeah, that’s not going to work. However, you’re right - I completely misread the quote. I blame the buffalo wings. ---

The letter Elon sent to laid off employees is in the linked article. Sounds like he did give them the required pay and benefits. His claim he gave more than required appears to potentially be bullshit. It looks like they are giving what they have to dependent on the employees location. I know what the news reports are saying. I just have a hard time believing that a guy so strapped for cash that he’s firing over half of his workforce, coming up with garage-sale ideas on how to raise revenue, and is burning his corporations relationships with their main revenue base, has suddenly decided that hes going to pay 50% more than the legally required minimum to people he will never see again and had no respect for in the first place. In short: seeing is believing. And we will see what happens in these court cases. ---

Yeah, I think his claim he is giving them more than required is bullshit. That article I just linked to makes it sound like he is giving them what is legally required. In CA, that is 60 days worth of pay & bennies, in NY is 90 days. He cherry picked NY as “50% more than required” when it is actually 100% of what is required and no more. ---

To be fair, as an advertiser, I would take seriously a nuking threat from a guy who makes exploding cars. Lol, now I have to wonder… if Elon knows that Tesla #12345 was sold to the IPG exec that canceled their ad buy… could he fuck with their car? ---
