I know the blue check doesn’t mean diddly squat anymore, but I seem to recall a tweeter with a similar name doing good reporting on Ukraine. I hope it’s just my failing memory because I hate to think I’ve liked tweets by this person. ---

I believe he has sources on the ground in the Ukrainian military, so he’s able to report military actions early and in fine detail. I regard him as a pretty good source, on the whole, and have great respect for the hours he puts into his work. ---

Is this supposed to mean that, 'because we’ve, “always done it.” that it’s ok? If not what the hell point is he trying to make? Honestly, I think most people are probably a bit more tuned into history than this bozo. You have to be a pretty pathetic person to be a slavery apologist. Grrr ---

Legal slavery is long dead. Illegal slavery is still a reasonably big business today. I’ve no doubt Musk personally knows somebody who has a few. ---

If illegal, non-chattel slavery counts as slavery, then the informal thrall-like slavery backed only by threats of violence that I’m sure has existed since humans existed also counts. Chattel slavery may also have existed since trade has existed, which is a pretty darn long time, but I don’t know if there is evidence for that or not. ---
