The army's M1918 was a favorite of gangster Clyde Barrow, who obtained his through periodic robberies of Army National Guard armories in the Midwest. Yeah! And what’s with Samsonite, having their luggage tossed around by gorillas? I mean, how could a Gorilla afford luggage? And what would they put in it? How stupid!

Next they’ll be putting wristwatches on crabs and dropping them in the ocean or something. They said it takes a licking and keeps on ticking, but crabs don’t even have tongues!

Trucks get banged up a lot. If the vehicle can stop handgun bullets and arrows, maybe it won’t be as likely to dent when you accidentally bang into it carrying something. ‘Torture tests’ are a common advertising mechanism, and this is no different.

There are lots of things to criticize about the Cybertruck. LOTS. It’s ugly, the visibility sucks, the bed looks less than useful, the raised sides make it hard to toss stuff into the bed, the front windshield looks like a reflection nightmare, etc. No need to come up with silly arguments about a viral ad stunt.

</div>

Not really comparable: Gorillas would destroy and ordinary suitcase, so if you have a suitcase a gorilla can’t destroy (though I always questioned that ad) it’s pretty tough. However, if you have a bonobo play with it, not so tough. You put a crab in deep water with a watch and it keeps ticking impressive. If you put the watch on the crab in a four inch wading pool, eh.

Samsonite was making a relevant point about their hard-shell cases being break-resistant, which is especially pertinent when many competing products are made of heavy leather. I don’t know what Timex ad you’re referring to but it sounds like they’re touting water resistance, which again is a pertinent quality of the product.

The ability to resist penetration by low-energy bullets or arrows says absolutely nothing about any useful product quality. It certainly says nothing about dent resistance. The low-energy tommy gun bullets dented the hell out of the truck.

You should suggest that Tesla actually _say that_ in their advertising then, you know, like Samsonite and Timex did. Otherwise they just come across like complete loons, and have to rely on apologists to make up ad hoc reasons for their stupid stunts.

Elon just needs to market this as the anti-woke truck and he’ll get idiots like Sam lining up to pay $90K+ it.

Just think how hard he’ll be owning the libs when cruising around in it.

It’s much cheaper to rely on apologists and fan boys. They’ll reliably do it for free. I could hear Sam running down the street to defend Elon as soon as I saw that series of mean mean posts.

To be fair, it doesn’t sound like **Sam** would ever actually buy a Cybertruck. In fact, considering his diatribes against EVs in general and the alleged inadequacies of the electricity grid, I doubt **Sam** would buy any vehicle that isn’t powered by gasoline, diesel fuel, or, preferably, coal or lamp oil…

You can’t be this stupid. There’s nothing at all silly about pointing out just how stupid these pathetic attempts at ‘viral ad stunts’ are.

> [@Great\_Antibob](#):

> You mock but the next time the English threaten your freedumbs with their superior longbows, who will be laughing?

Yeah, he’s clearly designing around the wrong threat. Where is all of the gasoline for these high-speed chases in the Mad Max future supposed to be coming from if society has collapsed, and where’s the logic in burning this precious remaining petrol at prodigious rates in high-speed chases where the ‘winner’ has burned more fuel than they claimed as their reward? If Elmo was truly smart he’d be designing a fully solar powered Cybertruck that could survive arrows fired by Mongols on horseback chasing after it with their composite bows.

I thought the purpose of firing arrows at the Cybertruck was to demonstrate its safety when venturing off-road into hostile Indian territory. I assumed that it reflected Elmo’s grasp of reality about his adopted country, which he believes still has too many Indians, too many brown people, and not nearly enough white Nazis.

I looked and could not find the timIex crabs in deep water ad. They were about being water proof but also durability. I did find this one where a cliff diver dives with a timex watch on his fist. Proving how water proof and durable they are. It hit the water face first and kept on ticking. For elon’s demo guess yo trust me on this one. ETA: Hmm, the dreaded video error. I haven’t mastered that yet so I guess you gotta’ trust me on it.

It’s something about the preview that makes the video fail, which effectively means you cannot edit a post where you posted a video. Best bet is to wait until you’re about to post, then paste in the link to the video at the end of your post and immediately submit. And then never edit the post.
