The one Ford I owned rusted through the rear wheel well. It was a huge hole; probably 8x8. It was less than 10 years old. That was not the only rust on it either. ---

Ehh, and I had one Ford that went for 200K miles before I sold it, the head had never been off, and as far as I know it’s still running. No rust to speak of, because it’s Texas. The acronyms are fun until people start believing them. And even great car makers sometimes put out a lump of garbage. So you’re paying your nickel and taking your chances. Tesla has about average reliability ratings. The American headquartered mfrs all seem to bounce around in the same middling range of reliability Tesla is at. I honestly don’t know how Toyota ranks so high year after year. I’ve had a Toyobaru for several years now, it’s the first one I’ve owned. No problems, it’s been very much like the Escort GT that went at least 200K miles. ---

My Toyota Scion xB is a 2006, the last year of that model before they revised it for the American market, and it still runs just fine with over 111,000 miles on it. Excellent gas mileage, not great in snow but I don’t drive in that any more if I can help it. Hasn’t needed much work over the years except the usual routine maintenance. ---
