Bert and Ernie, come on now it’s time to admit it. OK do you realize Bert is always telling Ernie to “Clean up his room.” OK Ernie lives in a flat with another man and HE HAS HIS OWN ROOM!!! Yet he chooses to share a bedroom with Bert. OK it’s seperate beds but we probably just don’t see the times they push the beds together. 😃 ---

And I stand by my assertion that I can count the number of gay coworkers I’ve had on one hand. Talking about people’s sexuality isn’t a big topic of conversation at work (for obvious reasons) but when _every one_ of your coworkers talks about their opposite sex partner (many of whom you’ve met personally) or their (corroborated) stories about searching for an opposite sex partner, it’s a pretty safe bet your co-workers aren’t gay. Even if they were, it’s not like there’s anything wrong with it. What activists, and what numbers are they throwing out? I’d toss out the high and low numbers, and I don’t think anyone yet has come up with a way to ever know for sure. ---

The LGBT crowd at Uni and on the boards here often mention figures in the 10-15% of the population range. My personal feeling is that it’s probably closer to 3-5%. ---

The 10% number is from the Kinsey sexuality study back in the 40s and 50s. It has since been widely discredited (even most gay activist groups only cite numbers between 3 and 5%). So congratulations, you’re right and the people throwing around numbers are right too. ---

Because he is about as sexually unappealing as it gets. Between the hyper personality, the geekitude, and his overall Frankensteinian looks… can’t see it. ---

When I used to see him (before I knew who he was) I remember thinking how odd looking he was - he especially stuck out like a sore thumb in “pretty boy” West Hollywood. But he was always friendly and gave a smile and a nod. Don’t think we ever exchanged more than a “hi” whenever we would pass each other on the sidewalk. And yes, he really did always seem to have some decent looking woman next to him, even before he got famous - what can I say; maybe he has some other “asset” other than his looks that attracted the ladies? ---

I guess I’m really out of the loop, but what is it with Anderson Cooper? Why does everyone think he’s gay? What about that guy on that entertainment show in the evenings? Mario what’s-his-name. Or is he already out? ---

Anderson Cooper is 43, beyond rich, never been married, never linked with any women, doesn’t parade around town with arm candy, “refuses to discuss his personal life”, and has been spotted in discreet gay bars. He doesn’t feel he has to make a BFD announcement to the world, but just lives his life without comment… Mario Lopez has been married to Ali Landry (?) and last month he announced he and his girlfriend are expecting a baby, so I HOPE he isn’t ‘already out’. But he is a beautiful specimen and I wouldn’t doubt he gets hit on by men and women hopefuls all the time. ---

Still wondering why there’s no juice to gossiping that someone with an opposite-sex partner may actually be bi. I’m going to assume that, since both gays and straights tend to be squicked by bis, such rumors wouldn’t sell ad space, so they don’t happen. ---
