Now this is some *useful* MPSIMS, thying shoelaces on a single move

I just stumbled, bleary eyed, down to the basement to find a pile of clothes that needed folding. 10 seconds later I had 4 t-shirts folded! That’s amazing! They all fit in my suitcase nicer too! hehe

If I ever bothered to actually tie my shoes, I’d be totally geeked at this thread.

Fine, good idea, but answer me this:

What the heck am I’m going to do with all the time that I’ve saved. I’m getting bored just thinking about it. Will I have to take up a hobby? Learn a foreign language? What?

This can only come to no good.

Tie other peoples’ shoelaces.

But I double-knot!

The shoe-tying method, I will definitely check out. I like the ninja t-shirt fold as well. **Dangerosa **was suprised I had not seen it.

But check out the site linked from the shoelace dude – The Dimpler. It’s apparently a device for tying perfect tie knots. But it looks like a Really Sharp Thing held pointed at one’s neck, which is a bit off-putting.

If you have to retie because they come loose, here’s a knot I learned from the SD.

It’s very similar to a standard shoe knot: Make a loop. Take the other string and wrap it around the loop (with your finger or thumb there to keep it open, and pull a loop of that string through.

But instead of going around the first loop once, go around twice. Your shoes will never come loose again.

It’s probably a testimony to my attention span these days, but I got frustrated and gave up. It’s hard to overcome nearly 40 years of muscle memory. Now, if somebody could come up with a trick for flossing…

makes me almost wish I tied my shoes…
…I just leave them loose enough to slip in and out…

:frowning:

Pretty cool, but methinks Ian from the shoelace site needs to get laid.
