75%; maybe I’ll be deported. I would have thought that, at least from a UKIP point of view, knowing too much about the EU would be considered anything but British…
We’ll worry about that when UKIP gets into power (shortly after it’s starts snowing in hell).
Am I really the first to gey 100%? Woo.
The M/C one was a bit of an unfair question, I thought. I happened to know the answer since I have an MC licence, but I don’t see why knowing this piece of information is relevant to a general citizenship test.
And it’s not just for citizenship anymore. You now have to pass this test to get Indefinite Leave to Remain (basically permanent residence, the last step before being able to apply for citizenship). I had to take it last year, and when my British husband looked at the study guide and sample questions he said he couldn’t answer most of them!
I got 66%, and guessed on almost every question except the one about Ireland. I think I did all right, considering.
That had some weird questions. Supply of water to homes. Really? The discount for a single resident? Information on setting up a business? Mandatory to wear a helmet on a motorcycle? Weird.
well, mandatory except for Sikhs wearing turbans.
I got 8 out of 12.
66% and I even knew about Sikhs and turbans and still thought the answer would be “everyone” (but that some then get exemptions). Stoopid multi-choice questions.
91% for me, Damn those Sikhs and their turbans.
Actually I had some notion that the legalities of that had been altered so that they DO need to wear a helmet, but being neither a motorcyclist nor a Sikh man (a motorSikhist?), I suppose it’s all right to get that one wrong. And yes, the judge question was a bit dodgy. And who’s going to care about a St. Patrick’s Day holiday unless they actually get it as a holiday? Grumble, grumble.
8/12. What the hell is a “council tax”? I’ve heard of the tax for owning TV sets, but have no idea what this one is.
It’s what you pay for services supplied by the local council (mainly rubbish collection and road maintenance). Local services are supplied at the borough/county level and those are run by town/borough councils.
83%, I didn’t get the council tax question as it doesn’t apply to NI and I didn’t realise a Sikh could ride around on a motorbike without a crash helmet.
To stop immigrants calling 999 to complain? It happens a lot I’m sure.
St Patrick’s day is a bank holiday, is that technically a national holiday? Ian Paisley of all people asked to make it apply to everyone.
