If you enjoy scholarly writing with a snappy verve, and if you are interested in movie history, you’ll enjoy her books! ---

And they aren’t the people I’m talking about. The people you mention are those who, like the people here who are victims of anonymous smear campaigns, have to put up with the jerks. The ill-bred jagoffs might be the same, though. ---

On a complete and yet related aside: Eve, I received two Jimmy Durante CDs for Christmas (The Great Schnozzola, and As Time Goes By) and happened to be searching the net for a good biography on him (I love his work, but most of what I know about him is what George Burns has written in “All My Best Friends”)… and guess who I find has written an article about him for Films of the Golden Age, Issue #14? So- is there a good biography of Durante that you’d recommend? Ha cha cha cha cha! ---
