I was going to start a thread about this one particular case but never got around to it. Since there’s a Birther thread happening, I’ll just go ahead and post it here. Fair warning: these links will give Birthers and other right-wingers the heebie jeebies, nightmares, and cause rashes, but should be safe for sane people. They’re worth reading through, at least the OPs and the links provided. [1st link](http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=132x8246416) (seriously, you gotta read this and the others): In one of the many, many, maaaany Birther cases, a clear-headed and snarky judge (Judge James Robertson) ruled against the wingnuttery of this particular case. He not only ruled against the case brought before him, he ordered that one of the lawyers show cause as to why “he has not violated Rules 11(b)(1) and 11(b)(2) of the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure, and why he should not be required to pay reasonable attorneys fees and other expenses to counsel for the defendants.” [2nd link](http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=printer_friendly&forum=389&topic_id=5277427): So instead of being all contrite and shit, that lawyer, John Hemenway, got all defiant and started spouting more wingnuttery, including saying that it was “preposterous to cite Attorney Hemenway for Rule 11 sanctions” and he even pretty much called the judge stupid and accused the judge of having political aspirations! The judge did, however, acknowledge that “Many people, perhaps as many as a couple of dozen, feel deeply about this issue.” 😃 Much fun! I _like_ that guy! Needless to say, Freepers are a [just a tad upset](http://freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2214274/posts). The wingnuts have [filed an appeal](http://www.scribd.com/doc/13435683/Hollister-Notice-of-Appeal), and that’s where it stands at the moment. And then there’s the whole [Orly Taitz thing](http://defendourfreedoms.us/2009/03/24/usdoj--office-of-solicitor-general-and-scotus.aspx), but that’s a whole 'nother level of crazy there. Makes my brain hurt. ---

Cameroonians are very excited about Obama’s election. To the point where I knew a Cameroonian teaching in China who wore an Obama button on his suit every single day. There is a semi-religious belief that Obama will unite nations, bring an end to religious strife and usher in a new world of happiness and joy where every Cameroon can get a visa. And so there is also a persistent rumor that Obama is Cameroonian. There is a whole conspiracy theory tracing his family to the Beti tribe of central Cameroon. I get spam email about this all the time. Best conspiracy theory ever. ---

I for one welcome our new heavenly (demonic) overlords. **Little-Known Fact** : the reason they haven’t produced his Birth Certificate (as opposed to his Certificate of Live Birth) is that it would reveal that his full legal birth name is **Barack Hussein Adolf Ceaucescu Satan Stabby Stabby Gooberhead Obama**. Apparently the pain medication hadn’t worn off when his mother filled out the forms. ---
