Honesty has nothing to do with what kind of degree or training someone has.
As for the latest news about the deal, Debbie Wasserman Shultz announced her support.

Terr, if you’re still here, read this article about Shultz’s thought process in making her decision. She says that the decision was extremely difficult for her, that it would be “based on my Jewish heart,” and that “There’s nothing more important to me as a Jew than to ensure that Israel’s existence is there throughout our generations.” Yet, she came out in favor of the deal. So hopefully you can see, as everyone else does, that it’s possible to question a Jew’s objectivity on this issue, without questioning his patriotism.
Unfortunately, coming up with the “wrong” decision also leaves her open to questions about her Jewish heart. As the article notes, “A protester outside her office recently screamed that ‘Wasserman Schultz should go to the ovens’ on the assumption that she would support the agreement.” The assumption, not even the fact. Evidently Gentiles do not hold a monopoly on bigotry.
Yes. She put being a Democrat above her “Jewish heart”.
She says both were consistent.
Please submit your Certificate of Telepathy for our inspection.
He’s a Doper conservative – they seem to have extremely heightened mind-reading abilities.
So now it’s you who is questioning her patriotism. I take the enlightened view that she put her country ahead of both her politics and her religion.
He cannot. I revoked that today when in another thread he attempted to read my mind and failed miserably.
Where did I question her patriotism?
No, she put her politics ahead of her “Jewish heart”. Quite obviously.
See, you just did it AGAIN!!
You berated Trinopus, and you even called him disgusting, for allegedly questioning the patriotism of the Jewish hearts of the rabbis against the deal. It follows that you believe Jewish hearts to be exceptionally patriotic, and that any allegation that someone puts politics ahead of her Jewish heart is questioning her patriotism. Which is disgusting.
Are you saying that it’s impossible to support the deal and be “true” to one’s “Jewish heart”? Are Israelis and all other Jews (like myself) who support this deal betraying our “Jewish heart”?
Nope. Democrat politics does not equal patriotism.
It is possible (if mistaken). It is a bit suspicious that the Jews that support the deal are all Democrat. Coincidence? I think not. I have a feeling that if the deal was reached by a Republican president (however unlikely that is), those Jewish Democrats would have, correctly, followed their “Jewish heart” and rejected the deal, since they would not have had the Democrat politics contradicting it.
Oh, you have a feeling! Well, OK, then. Certainly settles that!
Yes, it’s VERY suspicious that Republicans don’t like something Obama did. Totally unprecedented.
I’m pretty sure your mind-reading ability of Congressional Democrats is as bad as your mind-reading ability of Dopers.
Be pretty smutty, actually. Plus a lot of really bad jokes. But that’s just me, rest of you guys are much more refined. Yeah.
I’m no fan - far from it - but Wiki says four, not six, of Trump’s businesses have gone bankrupt.
Terr is in a bit of a pickle. He gets outraged when people assume American Jews have some loyalty to Israel. The problem is he thinks they all SHOULD have loyalty to Israel. Well, it would be a problem if it slowed him down in the slightest.
Supporters of the deal now have 41 Senators– this may not even get to the President’s desk to require a veto.
