I don’t know how to do quotes yet, so I am improvising! 🙂 “How did you find the SD in the first place?” An AOL pal sent a link to share a thread he started. “Did you lurk?” Yes, for two weeks. “Which forums do you go to most?” I’ve been peeking in them all. I like MPSIMS, GD, GQ, IMHO… Oh well heck, they’re all intriguing. “Are you a regular thread starter?” Not yet, but I know how to start a car, a fire and an arguement. Will that do for now? “Where do you post from?” A green chair in the family room. “Anybody post nude?” Not on the third date! :o Er, umm, I meant post. “Or from weird places?” I’m not sure, is Texas considered wierd? ---

I knew of The Straight Dope from the books and newspaper columns, so one day I decided to see if there was a website and surprise! I was a dedicated lurker for a while, but I think it was the “Very vaguely creepy” thread that finally got me to register. I’m a general questioner, a humble opiner and a mundane and pointless sharer, but not a great debater. The Pit? Well, we don’t get Springer out where I am, so sure, I’ll have a look at what’s on the fire. And I’m buck naked. –sublight. ---

I was turned on to the SD by a lurker called **_shaolin_** in February. I read the archives, popped back every now and again… and then found the MB! I’ve never been a lurker so i jumped on in straight away (but i was a Good Doper and did my research so that i learned all about Opal and Wally and Serlin (sorry to put those in the same sentence) and the other SDMB Special Things To Know About). I generally go: **Vanity Search** (Oh, don’t tell me you don’t do it too) **MPSIMS** (I’m an MPSIMS whore) **The Pit** (Possibly the most entertaining forum) **IMHO** (What Great Wisdom can i dispense today? And how’s my post count looking?) GD (I lurk here until that glorious day when there arises a topic i could actually talk knowledgably about) GQ (No, i still don’t know anything about astrophysics or the average velocity of an unladen African swallow) I love this clever, funny, helpful, dreamy bunch of people 😉 Fran PS.
