I dunno. Seems fake to me because their background was living and working on a farm. I can’t believe they would have a circle of friends and family that could afford $1,500. That’s a paycheck for me. Some of my friends make even less than that. If I asked my friends for $20 to attend my birthday party, no one would show. 😃 ---

First, I don’t think this story is true. But playing along with it, I note that the “$60K all inclusive with flights to Aruba” doesn’t say _ **who** _ the flights are for. That could very well be what the bride and groom need to pay for the wedding and their own flights, leaving the guest to find their own way. ---

One can get working papers & work even before one can legally drive. A significant portion of the fast food industry counts on teens & child actors are just two examples. Now an arms length job would probably not result in much more than minimum wage, but there are lots of kids who work at their parents small business & can be paid whatever the parent desires. Why couldn’t he be a well paid farmhand? Children can also have bank &/or brokerage accounts. In many states they are a custody account but it’s absolutely legal. In fact we have a local bank w/ a part-time branch located _in_ the high school. It’s a community partnership to teach savings & other financial matters. It’s open to all students & limiting it to 18 yo’s would eliminate close to 90% of the student body at the beginning of the year. There’s also the possibility that the child inherited some money from a deceased relative, like a grandparent. Now the fact that the boy supposedly spend $5000 on a ring when the family was only able to contribute $3000 towards the wedding is a bit suspicious. I doubt that many farm kids have that much money of their own if their family doesn’t. ---

(Coincidentally, that was the destination for my brother and sister-in-law’s honeymoon and they had a _terrible_ experience. I think the weather sucked or one of them got sick or something. I think they ended up coming home early.) ---
