# Nutria turkey? Possible or a joke?

Why some of the folks in New Orleans & other effected areas of southern LA aren’t joining the program linked to on _ **Vinyl Turnip** _’s post, I’ll never know…
Get landowner permission, fill out the form, and turn in tails for a $5 bounty per tail…
And if it’s good to eat, in addition to some cash, you get some food on the table…
If I lived there, I’d be out hunting them, if for no other reason than scouting for other hunting. They might be breeding faster than they can be controlled, but I’d be in on the cash & meat.

I was going to say that I live in completely the wrong part of the world to be able to enjoy these tasty vermin. then I discovered that they’re called _Coypu_ here - we have naturalised populations of them in some parts - mostly the Norfolk Broads. I’m not sure whether we’re allowed to hunt them though.
