As much as Trump cries about this being a sham and a fraud, how often does the NY AG’s office go after business/individuals for this kind of thing? ---

NYC is an international business center; where there’s business, there’s white-collar crime. And falsifying records is a big part of most financial crime (the maxim that it’s the cover-up that often gets you, not the crime, applies here). ---

Not directly relevant to this civil case, but I recall that at the news conference after the NY criminal charges, the DA said that prosecuting false business records was the “bread and butter of the Manhattan prosecution office”, with a similar comment that New York is the business centre of the world, so prosecutions for inaccurate business records is a big part of their workload. ---
