So, they could write it down while snickering. I can’t be too critical; I used to represent rapists and murderers, but I must say, you’d have to sell your soul to represent people in this group. IIRC, Kise, the lawyer who was objecting to the law clerk, got a $3M retainer to work for Trump. At least that’s what everyone thought he’d gotten; it wasn’t announced by the Trump team. He’s supposedly a good lawyer, so I’m not sure why he’s making an issue of the clerk. ---

Pissing them off, or disrespecting them, is the quickest way I can think of to becoming a pariah in the profession (they other way is to represent trump, apparently). Very little the defense atyorneys are doing is meant to sway the judge. They know they’re fucked. Now, it’s just putting on a show for Trump and MAGA, so that they can ignore reality and pretend the judge/clerk/entire court system is out to get them. They’ve done their version of a cost/benefit analysis and decided that up to (say) 100G in fines will accomplish the goal of getting Engoron so pissed off he scolds them, which in turn will pay for itself in rubes getting grifted for 100G and making it seems that the judge was biased against Trump all along. The documents are what they are, the evidence is what it is, and the case is a loser for Trump on its face. The only thing they can gain from it is the judge making statements that they can then play as proof that he was always disposed against them. ---

Because the rubes are convinced that only their avenging angel of death and graft can Drain the Swamp. A Swamp that exists only in Trump’s head that he can drain after the inauguration just by saying it’s gone. ---

True. He will however keep announcing great victories over the Hydra. Which somehow, no matter how beaten or cowed, always comes back tomorrow with renewed vigor and hatred for the Common Man. And their Savior Hero. ---
