If he gets to be president, it wonā€™t matter. And he can sue to get back his money or grift it back. His empire wasnā€™t lost, it was ā€œstolen by the Deep State.ā€ I donā€™t think it will affect his day-to-day life. Maybe Iā€™m falling into defeatism. ---

Trump said that the difference in cost could also be explained by the roof access, and then ā€œitā€™s not that far off.ā€ He also said they could have made a mistake and thereā€™s a disclaimer clause for that reason. ā€œThereā€™s a disclaimer clause where you donā€™t have to get sued by the attorney general of New York,ā€ Trump said. the disclaimer clause does not mean what you think it means. it was the roof, it was the elevators. crazy. ---

Trumpā€™s only strategy here is to win the 2024 presidential election and thatā€™s why he wants to pontificate on politics while testifying. Heā€™s pretty much written off this trial and knows heā€™s already lost. Weā€™re just watching a wild animal lashing out in its death throes. ---

Iā€™ve had the feeling that once Trump ended up in court for anything serious that this would be the end of him. I think weā€™re starting to see that now. This is why he was so desperate to stay in power, to insulate himself from things like this. Itā€™s just going to get worse when he goes to criminal trial later. Especially the one that will be televised. Iā€™m sure Trump thinks that this trial is just going to be free publicity and is part of his campaign. But I think this is going to really backfire on him. ---

When he stops being able to display his supposed wealth and power, _that_ will truly affect him, though I agree weā€™re seeing the first cracks here. Everything is a dominance display with Trump, and finally, those chickens are coming home to roost. ---
