# NY Ren Faire - Interested?

I know I would be interested, if I can find a way of getting up there. That’s the biggest problem - I’m sans car. But if I can find a way to get up there, without a doubt. As far as other Dopers… we already know we can entice **Euty** (which means I’d complete near impossible feats to be there!) and I’m sure some of the other area Dopers would also be up for it. And even if it’s a small amount of us… we’d still have fun, wouldn’t we???

I would _so_ love to go. I’m in Virginia but this is certainly closer to me than the California Ren Faire being discussed in the other thread. And I can give rides to three other people (four if really squished; VW Jettas may have five seats but they’re not really meant to seat that many people).

If there’s enough interest and it’s on a favorable weekend, I’d go (note: the weekend of June 8, IIRC, is already taken, as is the weekend of the 27th of July).

Well, listen, folks, as **TruePisces** quoted me, the NYRenFaire is only a 30 minute or so drive from _Casa Dave-Guy_ Not only that, but the NJTransit Train goes close enough by my house (and it even stops, too) that I can hear it whistling at the crossing at night. Which reminds me, I gotta replace these damn windows.
**AND** …the Red and Tan bus line from Port Authority goes by within walking distance of my front door.
If you need a point man, or a reconnoitering place, my front porch is as good a place as any (pending approval from Mrs. Dave-Guy, of course, it’s her house, too. But I assure you, she’s cool when it comes to things Dope).
Now, having just said all that, keep in mind that I work some weekends. Not on Sundays, but on the second and third Saturdays of every month, I owe my soul to the company store. So, whatever plans you make, if you wanna include me in, and especially if you wanna meet at my house (or stop by for some refreshment after), ya gotta steer clear of the second and third Saturdays.
I suggest we decide what’s going on and individually purchase our tickets online at the earliest. You don’t want to try buying your way in once you get there. We went on opening day last year, and it was mobbed before the gates even opened.

Well, I’d love to come. I’m in Florida the week of the 4th of July, but I’m cool any other weekend. And I’ll have wheels by then for any Brooklynites who may need to hitch a ride.
I don’t drive, but Houseman will be happy to do it.

**Little Nemo** , yes, it’s in Sterling Forest. (although the site says Tuxedo. Same difference.)
Might I suggest a Sunday, rather than a Saturday? If it doesn’t matter to anyone else, that’s just my own druthers.

FYI, I spoke to my wife last night re: offering up _Casa Dave-Guy_ as a home base for operations. Her response: “Absolutely.” She is interested in meeting these Dopers I talk about constantly. Boy, is she gonna be sorry she said that! I want you to be on your best behavior, **Biggirl** , and while I know that’s not much, please do the best you can. 😉
**Pisces** , when you’re choosing the weekend, please keep in mind my work schedule. Second and third Saturdays are work days for me.
As this moves along, I’ll probably have people email me for directions. More to come, film at eleven.
I’m excited about this! WOO HOO! Another Fest, right in my own backyard!

My schedule is a little strange, I get two weekends off out of every seven. Unfortunately, I’ll be off the weekends of June 15-16 and 22-23, so I’ll just miss the opening weeks. Then I don’t have another weekend off until August 3-4 and 10-11. I can get other days off if needed however. Except the weekend of July 27-28, on which I have commitments. If it’s that weekend, I won’t be able to attend.
