If we’re going to be six, I’d better call and make a reservation! Shouldn’t be a problem, though, the tables and comfy chairs and sofas in the lobby are so close together we can break in two and easily chat back and forth. It’s such a lovely, quiet, decompressing place, like stepping back into 1910. I love going there for a quiet tea at lunchtime, just to lower my blood pressure during issue-closing. ---

Pushy. 😃 **Eve** , on a slightly more serious note- please tell us a reasonable dress code for where we are having brunch on Monday? ( Lunch? Brunch? I suppose unless you’re a rock star, 1:00pm is lunch, isn’t it? ). I truly do not wish to show up appearing slovenly. Is a jacket required, or are a decent pair of pleated pants, wing-tip shoes, a lovely sweater and a glittering earring acceptable? These people know you. Wouldn’t want to tarnish your Golden reputation. 😉 Please advise. ---

My Gramma Shirley was quite the Flapper in her day, and somewhere in Mom’s albums are photos of Gramma resplendant in her [Cloche](http://nfo.net/usa/flapper_cloche.jpg). OTOH, she didn’t favor the 1912 Titanic-Era [Fashion of the Day](http://www.lynnmcmasters.com/hatsfullsize/rusthat1910s.jpeg) ---

Your grandmother was Louise Brooks? I _am_ impressed. No dress code at the Algonquin. Jeans are fine. It’ll be cold, so most people will be bundled up in sweaters and such. White tie and evening gown not necessary. I’ll be wearing an office “sweater and skirt” outfit. ---

Travelled the world, made friends wherever she went, was a Flapper, a Mom of 2, hard-working wigmaker, devoted wife and fashion plate- near as she could be on her pay. There are a few photos of her in high dress, if I get ahold of them I’ll scan them. Quite beautiful. She was not, however, Louise Brooks. Dammit. ( Imagine the points I’d score with **Eve** if she found out my gramma was an infamous silent film chanteuse??? Imagine??? The mind reels. Pardon the pun. Heh. ) ---
